A Philosophy of Healing

Certified advanced clinical qi gong practitioner and acupressurist, Kay Hutchinson, believes that it is within each individual's power to heal at profound levels if given refined guidance from trained professionals.

As a result, she takes the extra time and care to work very closely with clients to craft focused strategy plans for all sessions, classes and life coaching experiences.

Diverse Training and Experience

Chinese Medicine

Founder Kay Hutchinson distinguished herself in the three-years residential medical qi gong program at the Longevity Center and Institute (San Jose, CA) by completing extra clinical hours under the guidance of Dr. Arnold Tayam, professor of medical qi gong at Five Branches acupuncture college and Stanford's Integrative Medicine Department and dean of the Infinichi program at Yo San University.

Kay also completed acupressure certification at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA with an emphasis on integrating medical qi gong (qi emission) into session work.

Under the guidance of third generation, master herbalist, John Fung, Kay learned the intricacies of custom Chinese herbal formulations.

Kay also was the editor of a project on behalf of master Jeffrey Yuen, L.AC that involved the creation of a 174 page transcription of his oral teachings on the applications of essential oils on acupuncture points.

Cognitive Science, Education & Psychology

Kay also holds three certifications as an educator and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Applied Learning and Development at U.T. Austin with an emphasis on developing methodologies to help people with special needs reach their full potential.

Graduate studies at the California Institute of Integral Studies in the integral counseling program, allows Kay to bring a high level of empathic listening skills and focus on addressing psycho spiritual issues to all her interactions with clients.

Kay's experience as an educator and writer on textbook projects ranging from genetics and astronomy lessons emphasized holistic methodologies for publishers such as Holt, Prentice Hall, and Silver Burdett Ginn.

Kay is the former editor and creator of Lyris News, a publication that taught corporate clients how to use ezines to build relationships with clients. She continues to provide guidance to clients regarding communication and wellness skills and currently is the publisher of Health Prosperity Blog, offering free strategies for improving health with Chinese medicine.

Self Development

When not working on Aiki Healing projects, Kay enjoys growing in new ways with advanced studies in qi gong with Dr. Tayam and Wu style tai chi with Dr. Jingyu Gu, Taoist scholar, licensed acupuncturist and owner of the Wellspring clinic. Kay is very grateful for the continued support of these two Taoist master teachers in her life.

She also enjoys working with animals, hiking, and creating art tapestries (third generation Japanese tapestry artist), and conducting outreach in her community and on a global level.

She served as the webmaster for the Ann Foundation for 8 years and continues to give support to the work they do with special needs children in developing countries.
